NBA Live provides the selection of real-life teams and players and the honest gameplay that fans have come to expect from the Electronic Arts NBA Live series of basketball games. The camera follows NBA superstars across the 3D court as they pass the ball, set up plays, and take the shot. NBA Live improves on the standards established by its predecessors with enhanced AI and better player models.
The improved announcer commentary, more encompassing crowd noises, and more detailed action in the stands and on the bench make for a realistic, ambient arena. NBA Live also offers a challenge mode, in which players gain points by performing extraordinary feats like winning by a large margin or sinking several consecutive three-point shots.
These challenge mode points can be used to unlock bonus teams and other special features in the game. I remember the days gone by when all basketball games were played from a TV camera view and woolly mammoths walked the Earth.
But those days came and went with the introduction of the first of the NBA Live series and their introduction of different camera angles including the perfect follow isometric camera to give a better view of the court. The problem is that ever since that initial great idea, the series has pretty much stayed the same. The graphics have gotten better and some little things have been tweaked and enhanced, but for the most part, NBA Live is the same as last year's version.
That isn't to say that is necessarily a bad thing. As usual, EA Sports commitment to excellence in every area of design is apparent. The menu system is easy and slick.
You'll find all of the game types that you saw last year. Whenever I install an old NBA Live game from Live 98 to Live , it works fine in the first try, but when I open them for the second time, they always crash after opening. These are the types of errors I always get: - Stat Engine Error - Codebase Error note: I didn't modify anything - Stack Trace Unavailable These games are always get me the errors: NBA Live 98 - The game starts new and it works fine on the first try, but as soon as I tried a new game, the game crashed.
After that crash, I can't open the game regularly and the error I always get is Codebase Error whenever I open the game. Since I can't go back to the game and closed it with Task Manager, the game can't be opened anymore on second try.

First just make sure you got the ACT's for Windows 2K and Whistler installed, then play around with the different programs it gives you and see if it works ok, let me know how it works out for you. Thanks again I had no luck with that game until very recently after the Whistler Tooklit, But I guess that Toolkit is now integrated into Service Pack 2. I believe that you installed Service Pack 2 and still having problem. Well I try finding it out.
I can play One on One perfectly, but the weird thing is that the game falls to the desktop when loading everytime a want to play something else. Any ideas? I had video problems only when using high or max texture quality.
So I use that on medium, and everything else maxed out with my Voodoo5. I only can play One on One, I dont know why. Look into the registry. Both repeat themselves over and over again. I'd be hearing Poirer's "Count it! Interplay between the players is just about perfect, though. Protesting calls and giving props for good plays at the free throw line adds a nice touch of realism to the proceedings. The soundtrack is also excellent, once again boasting a great selection of hip-hop and rap tunes.
For all its warts, NBA Live isn't an unenjoyable gamebut it is a very unfulfilling one. Those who've followed the series in years past can't help but be disappointed. There aren't any serious advancements, and it's obvious that a number of steps have been taken backwards. Some important features have even been pulled.
Newcomers would be best off heading to the bargain bin and digging around for a copy of NBA Live It's a better game, and you'll save enough money to treat yourself to a taco or two in the food court on your way out of the mall. What OS are you using? You could look for a patch? Try a crack? Update your graphics card if needed? Try compatibility mode on the game exe Lower resolution In the game folder is a 3d set up file. You can change from d3d to glide. With this try glide wrapper or dxwind. Two programme wrappers which you can google and download. Read instructions and try to see if they will help you run the game.
